Gordon Ramsay says he should be ‘left alone to ride his fricking bike’ as he admits to 100km rides in lockdown

GORDON Ramsay admitted he ‘sneaked off’ for 100km cycle rides in lockdown but insisted he should have been left alone to “ride my fricking bike”.

The TV chef, 53, was warned by the coastguard in May for lockdown breaches but claims they should ‘look after the coastline’ and let him ride his bike.

Ramsay enraged locals in Cornwall by going on bike rides and visiting his three properties in the county.

Speaking on The Joe Wicks podcast the dad-of-five said: “There was no law to say that you had to cycle for an hour and an hour only.

“They were encouraging you to cycle so I did sneak off on some massive 90km and 100km bike rides.”

He added: “So what are the coastguard going to do? Think about it. Look after the coastline, let me ride my bike.

“The coastguard should not be telling me what to do in the middle of the forest in my fricking bike should they?

“There was no one on the roads so how the f*** you complain about me and my little bike when there’s no one on the f***ing roads. Come on.”

The Michelin-starred chef said cycling had helped them cope during lockdown.

He said: “For me there’s something quite therapeutic about being out in nature in the countryside.

“It’s just this sense of achievement. It’s not about massive long rides.

“It’s about having fresh air.

“It’s about seeing roads from a cycling point of view as opposed to either flying over it or driving over it and you start to appreciate agriculture in a different way.

“The roads were quiet and cycling has really kept it together for [our family] during this lockdown.”
