Grand National 2019: ITV racing tips for Day 2 at Aintree as Matt Chapman and Templegate go head-to-head with their best bets

IT’S all eyes on Aintree this week and our tipsters are champing at the bit.

Both sided with Band Of Outlaws on Day 1 but came unstuck by the game Pentland Hills. They’re hoping to bounce back on Day 2.

Aintree Day 1 tips

With Templegate edging ahead after a ding-dong March battle, Chappers heads into April hoping to draw level after falling 2-1 behind overall.

Attention switches to Day 2 of the Grand National meeting, and both have strong fancies on the card.

Standings (£1 Stakes)

January: Chappers 1 – 0 Templegate

February: Chappers 1 – 1 Templegate

March: Chappers 1 – 2 Templegate

April: Chappers -£1 & Templegate -£1

Templegate

There’s a Magic bet in the Randox Health Topham Chase.

CALL IT MAGIC (NAP) looks a perfect fit for this race over little more than a circuit of the Grand National course.

He ran a belter when fourth behind National hope Walk In The Mill. It looked like he might hold on when going clear three from home but it he probably made his move too early.

You want a sound-jumping prominent racer with experience of the fences in this race. That’s just what he is.

Matt Chapman

At 2.50pm there is a Grade 1 novices’ chase over nearly 3m1f.

LOSTINTRANSLATION (NAP) was picked up by Defi du Seuill in the JLT at Cheltenham, but his mixture of speed and stamina will make him hard to peg back for RSA hero Topofthegame.

I fancy Colin Tizzard’s runner big time.
