SHE may have a reputation as a Hollywood health nut, but Gwyneth Paltrow still treats herself to an alcoholic tipple – every day of the week.
“I like to unwind with one of my baths and a glass of Japanese whisky. I’m a seven days-a-week drinker,” the 45-year-old told the Evening Standard. “I learned that in London!”
Gwyneth split her time between London and LA during her 12-year relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
And now she’s bringing her famous wellness brand Goop to our capital, with a pop-up store in Notting Hill – which launches tomorrow.
The Oscar winning actress has kept tight-lipped about what will line the shop’s shelves, but items listed on the website include a 24-carat gold sex toy costing £11,300, £300 nipple clamps and £26 ‘brain dust supplement’ – so it could be pretty out there.
Although, speaking to the Standard, the mum-of-two insisted her life isn’t all about vagina facials and charcoal smoothies.
“I get up early and I like to have half an hour in my kitchen with a coffee before my kids get up,” she said.
“And then it’s sort of regular mum stuff. I take them to school, I exercise and then I come to the office and I’m at Goop all day.
“I try to be home by 5pm so we can sit around the kitchen table and do homework and then we eat together as a family.”
Gwyneth launched Goop in 2008, as a weekly newsletter of recommendations – which she actually wrote from her kitchen table in London’s Belsize Park.
The brand is now worth an incredible £190 million – with Goop opening its first permanent shop in LA last September.
It’s faced some criticism over the years, with Goop forced to pay out £112,000 over unproven claims about the health benefits of £51 jade stone vaginal eggs earlier this month.
While Gwyneth is now controversially endorsing cannabis products on the lifestyle outlet, according to reports.

But Gwyneth is unfazed by the criticism, telling the Standard: “I’m not actually that invested in what people think of me, and I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about that.”
The London pop-up, in Westbourne Grove, will be open until January 27 – with Gwyneth visiting in the second week of October, to catch up with Stella McCartney, Chris Martin and other friends.
“I have a bunch of friends who live close by so they can check (the pop-up) out and keep an eye on it when I’m back in LA,” she added.
