Rangers dug deep to recover in the final ten minutes, scoring three times after Hamilton had equalised.
Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent broke the deadlock, latching on to Alfredo Morelos’ through ball before chipping over the advancing Gary Woods with aplomb.
Gerrard’s men looked like they were heading for all three points but Steven Boyd equalised with ten minutes remaining. The Gers’ poured forwards and James Tavernier put them back in front from the spot before adding another penalty moments later.
With the clock running down, Alfredo Morelos scored on the counter attack to put gloss on the scoreline.
