Back at the height of his success in the early 1970s, men’s magazine founder Hugh Hefner was reported to be worth about $200 million.
By the time of his death in September 2017 his fortune was estimated at around $50million, although market research firm Wealth-X told Business Insider at the time that he was actually worth at least $110million, with around $45million in liquid assets.
Along with his four children, Hugh left a wife, Crystal, who is understood to have not been a major beneficiary of his estate due to a ‘iron-clad prenuptial agreement’.
Ahead of his death it was reported that alongside his children, he would be leaving bequests to the University of Southern California film school, and a variety of charities.
