THE son of former British boxing star Nigel Benn will be competing on the undercard at this weekend’s Dillian White vs Joseph Parker fight at London’s O2 Arena.

Conor Benn will face France’s Cedrick Peynaud for the WBA continental welterweight title as the pair meet each other for the second time in just over 7 months.

Who was Nigel Benn and how old is he?

Nigel Benn is a former British boxer and former holder of the WBO middleweight and WBC super-middleweight titles.

Benn was born on January 22, 1964 in London. He is 54 years old.

He turned professional in 1987 and began a rapid rise through the professional ranks after a 22 unbeaten record.

Benn won the Commonwealth middleweight title against Abdul Umaru in April 1988. He lost in his title defence against Michael Watson in the first defeat of his professional career.

In 1990, Benn won the WBO middleweight title after beating Doug DeWitt. Although, sacrificed the title seven months layer after a defeat to Chris Eubank at the NEC Arena in Birmingham.

He won the WBC super-middleweight title in a win against Italy’s Mauro Galvano in 1992.

When did Nigel Benn stop boxing?

Nigel Benn took part in his last fight on November 9, 1996, suffering his third successive boxing defeat in a WBO world super-middleweight title clash against Steve Collins.

It was the second time Benn had fought Collins that year, losing in July 1996 in the fourth round.

Two of Nigel Benn’s sons have haunted fisticuffs.

Conor Benn created his skilled debut in Apr 2016, beating Russia’s Ivaylo Boyanov.

He is presently undefeated in twelve skilled bouts and can vie in his maiden title fight this weekend against Cedrick Peynaud at the O2 Arena in London.

Harley Benn defeated Dominik Zubko in his debut fight in February 2017. The twenty one year previous is presently undefeated in four fights.
