NIKKI Grahame is one of Big Brother’s most legendary contestants after first bursting on to reality TV over a decade ago.
The TV star – known for shouting “Who is she?!” in the Diary Room – is certainly a force of nature. But what is her story? Here’s the low-down…
Who is Nikki Grahame, how old is she and what is her background?
Nikki Grahame is a 35-year-old model and former Big Brother contestant, who subsequently took part in numerous other Big Brother series.
She was born Nicola Rachel-Beth Grahame in Northwood and started experiencing major problems after her parents split up.
As a youngster she developed anorexia and was admitted to psychiatric hospitals after a suicide bid aged 12.
At one point she had to be force fed through a nasal tube after she starved herself.
Anorexia has continued to haunt Nikki throughout life, and it’s something she’s spoken about in two autobiographies.
After appearing as a Blind Date contestant, as well as taking small parts in EastEnders and Dream Team, Nikki began her journey to stardom through Big Brother.
What happened to Nikki on Big Brother?
Nikki entered the house in the early summer of 2006 and instantly divided viewers with her volatile, child-like persona.
Once Nikki’s past and mental health issues had been exposed in the papers, viewers slammed Channel 4 bosses for allowing her to take part in the show.
Through the series she stood out like a sore thumb thanks to her temper tantrums and romance with the eventual series winner, Brightonian Tourette’s sufferer Pete Bennett.
At one point she was furious about being nominated by Susie Verrico, and flew in to a Diary Room rage, crying: “Who is she?! Who is she?! Where did you find her?!”, which has now become a popular meme.
Despite being evicted fairly early on, Nikki was put back in thanks to a secret house – with two other contestants – and eventually regained her housemate status.
This meant she was evicted twice, and was met with major boos when she left the house for the second time, coming fifth.
What other reality TV shows has Nikki been on?
After Big Brother Nikki took part in her own fly-on-the-wall E4 show Princess Nikki, acted as a reporter on Big Brother’s Little Brother and then entered the 2010 series Ultimate Big Brother.
She went in alongside the likes of “Nasty” Nick Bateman, Brian Dowling – who won the series – and Makosi Musambasi.
Nikki came second on that series, and then entered Big Brother Canada 4 in 2016, being the second BBUK housemate to do this, after Jade Goody entered Big Boss 2 in India.
Her major fame led her to have a short-lived romance with rocker Pete Doherty.
More recently Celebrity Big Brother 2018 viewers can catch her in the adverts between the show.
