Huge gas explosion destroys Lincolnshire house as owner somehow escapes with minor injuries 

Emergency services responded to a suspected gas explosion in South Lincolnshire today. 

The explosion on Holly Close in Bourne on December 13 caused the house to collapse, and it has been severely damaged.

Police say that the occupants are safe and well, a man has minor injuries and is a little shaken but there were no other injuries.

Fire and gas services are in attendance at the scene and roads in the area have been closed. 

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: ‘The scene has been assessed and it has been deemed that there is no need to evacuate any other houses. 

‘This was reported to us at 9.13 am. Incident 95 refers.’  

Users took to social media after a picture of the ruined building was posted on Lincolnshire Police Motorcycles’ Twitter.

One wrote: ‘Wow that’s awful to see.’

Another said: ‘Like something out a warzone, hope everyone is safe.’
