ITV racing tips for Saturday’s action as Matt Chapman and Templegate go head-to-head at Newbury and Kelso

OUR tipsters are feeling fresh after a head-to-head battle at the Cheltenham Festival.

But the racing merry go round rolls on to Newbury and Kelso this week and both are confident they’ve got the winning ticket.

There’s only half a point between our tipsters heading into the final two weeks of this month’s challenge.

Templegate remains in profit and Chappers is on even money after both drew blanks at Uttoxeter’s tricky card last weekend.

Standings (£1 Stakes)

January: Chappers 1 – 0 Templegate

February: Chappers 1 – 1 Templegate

March: Chappers EVS

Templegate +0.50

Paul Nicholls’ long journey to Kelso should be Worth it.

Unexposed WORTHY FARM has always looked to have plenty of stamina. He would’ve found Taunton sharp enough for him when breaking his duck in November. The combination of returning to the track just two weeks later and making the running was probably to blame for his Cheltenham flop as that was clearly not his form.

His Ascot victory when ridden more patiently was much better and he should love today’s extra couple of furlongs.

Templegate's tips for Saturday

1.50 Kelso – Kalahari Queen

2.05 Newbury – Chic Name

2.25 Kelso – Winston C

2.40 Newbury – The Knot Is Tied

3.00 Kelso – Rons Dream

3.15 Newbury – She Might Bite

3.35 Kelso – WORTHY FARM (NAP)

Matt Chapman

At Newbury the 2.05pm is a handicap chase over 3m2f. A lot of out of form horses here and some of them would have every chance if regaining former glories.

One in great shape, though, is CLASSIC BEN who should take a bit of stopping.

He won well last time at Sandown landing a gamble in the process. Hopefully can double up.
