Kate Middleton joins Prince William to meet the Aga Khan ahead of their royal tour of Pakistan

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived for a meeting with the Aga Khan in London

Kate, 37, looked typically elegant in a £825 floor-length dress as she joined her husband Prince William, 37, for the engagement with the Muslim spiritual leader at the Aga Khan Centre in King’s Cross this morning.

The couple are being hosted by the Aga Khan, 82, at an event to showcase modern Pakistani culture ahead of their official visit to the country later this month.

The duke and duchess are due to carry out a royal tour of Pakistan from October 14 to 18.

The Duchess of Cambridge debuted a new dress today by a label that might not yet be on your radar.

It’s by ARoss Girl x Soler, the brainchild of Amanda Ross, who previously worked at Harper’s Bazaar and has also been a celebrity stylist and jewellery designer. The brand’s most famous other fan just so happens to be the Countess of Wessex so maybe Sophie and Kate have been swapping style tips!

We love the teal colour and contrast emerald belt on the ‘Amanda’ dress, which you can see up close by clicking (right) through to NET-A-PORTER. Add in some earrings by Pakistani designer Zeen and a classic pair of court heels, and it’s a very elegant look.

If you’re tempted to add some teal to your own Kate-inspired wardrobe, why not check out the top notch alternatives we’ve got lined up for you in the edit below?

The Duchess of Cambridge was perfectly polished for the engagement today, plumping for a flowing teal dress by little-known label ARoss Girl X Soler, which has previously been worn by the Countess of Wessex.

The dress, made from silk-georgette, boasts a chic waist tie that flattered the royal’s figure and delicate button cuffs that added to its feminine charm.

The ensemble was more modest than even demure Kate typically wears, suggesting it might have been chosen out of respect for her Muslim host.

The Duchess finished the look with a pair of towering green suede heels and matching green suede clutch bag.

The Aga Khan Centre in London is home to the Aga Khan Foundation, the Aga Khan University’s Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations, and the Institute of Ismaili Studies.

The organisations work to promote understanding about Muslim cultures and to connect the public to global development issues.

His highness the Aga Khan is the 49th hereditary imam of the world’s 20 million Shia Ismaili Muslims and a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed.

He succeeded his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan, as imam in 1957 at the age of 20.
