Katie’s mum, 64, was diagnosed with idopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017 and has just three years to live.

The illness causes scarring to the lungs which reduces the sufferer’s ability to breathe and there is currently no cure.

A source told Closer magazine: “Katie is heartbroken about Amy’s diagnosis and is secretly desperate to give her another grandchild as they don’t know how much time she has left.

“She says it would make Amy happy seeing her welcome another baby into the world and seeing her settled with Kris”.

The star is also keen to show her mum she is in a “better place” after a really difficult year.

The source added: “She thinks becoming a mum again would really show her family she’s beaten her demons and is focusing on a new chapter.”

Katie has Harvey, 15, Junior, 12, and Princess, 10, from past relationships and Jett, three, and two-year-old Bunny with ex husband Kieran Hayler.

The star revealed her plans to adopt earlier this year, saying: “I’ve always said I wanted to adopt a child and don’t care if they’ve got a disability or what age they are. I feel like I can offer a place.”

Plans to make her dream a reality came after Katie got talking to a woman at her nail salon who does work with an orphanage in Nigeria.

But Katie may end up adopting more than one baby as according to Closer magazine, she fell in love with a little girl during her recent trip to Thailand with boyfriend Kris Boyson.

Katie’ rep has been contacted for comment.
