ROY KEANE accused Fred of “cheating” and Gary Neville admitted Manchester United could not have done any more as they crashed to defeat to Manchester City.
United slumped to their seventh defeat in nine games as two second half goals saw City run out comfortable 2-0 winners at Old Trafford.
And after the game club legends Keane and Neville delivered a withering assessment of the state their old side is in at the moment.
Both were appearing as pundits on Sky Sports – and Neville started by claiming the side was so lacking in quality they could not have played any better than they had against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Neville said: “City in the first half an hour was as sloppy I’ve seen them. United played a decent game and, to be fair, that’s as good as they’ve got.
“What we saw was the gulf in class. I don’t think any of the players could have given more.
“There was nothing I’ve seen that made me think they could have given more.”
Keane snapped back, asking whether one shot on target at home is good enough, before turning his fire on United midfielder Fred.
He said: “What Fred has done is cheating by letting a man run off him for one of the goals.
“City were very good but it was an easy night for them. They are sitting in the dressing room and can’t believe how comfortable it was.
