KYLIAN MBAPPE left Ousmane Dembele red-faced and their France team-mates in stitches with an outrageous piece of skill in training.
Mbappe, 19, saw his former Barcelone team-mate Dembele closing in during a passing drill – and lifted the ball over him with a nonchalant flick on the outside of his right foot.
Fully-committed Dembele went skidding through on the ground – while the rest of the squad doubled up with laughter, clapping and roaring with amusement.
Ronaldo and Croatia’s Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric are thought to be the main contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
But midfielder Matuidi, who was joined at Juventus this term by Ronaldo, even believes Mbappe could pull off a shock when the 2018 winner is announced in December.
Matuidi said: “He’s among the nominees so he can win. He’s shown that he is a great player despite his young age,
‘What he shows on the pitch is very impressive. We also see it in training. We are very happy to work with him.
‘I’m not going to give favourites because I don’t want to have enemies in the group. May the best man win.
“But Mbappe has everything to win the Ballon d’Or this year or in the future.”
Whatever happens, Mbappe might struggle to match the second half of this year for drama.
After bagging France’s fourth goal in their 4-2 World Cup final win over Croatia, he has blitzed seven goals in ten games this term.
And Mbappe is likely to start at the Stade de France in Tuesday’s Uefa Nations League game against World Cup flops Germany.
