ROBERT Lui has been issued with Leeds’ SOS – save our season.
The Salford stand-off is wanted by the Rhinos for £65,000 to help them stay up in the remaining 10 games.
Australian Lui, 29, was heavily linked with a move to basement boys Hull KR.
However, their decision to axe Tim Sheens as coach opened the door for the Rhinos, who are willing to take his £160,000-a-year wages off the bill.
Leeds are also chasing Lui’s half-back partner Jackson Hastings and are believed to be keen on signing the 23-year-old now for a fee rather than wait until the end of the campaign.
Salford coach Ian Watson has already lined up several signings for 2020 but they will not be announced after they were infuriated by the way Hull and Wigan unveiled Josh Jones and Jake Bibby respectively.
London duo Luke Yates and Rhys Williams, Wigan’s Dan Sarginson and Hull KR’s Chris Atkin and James Greenwood are thought to have been tied up.
And a loan move, with Castleford’s Jamie Ellis already linked, may fill the gap left by Lui’s departure.
