Lil Nas X debuts THREE DIFFERENT outfits on the 2021 Met Gala red carpet

Lil Nas X went all out when planning out his red carpet looks for the Met Gala on Monday in New York City.

Instead of just one eye-catching ensemble, the 22-year-old hitmaker showed off three glamorous outfits that sent heads turning.

After making a grand entrance in a regal Atelier Versace cloak, the rapper doffed it to reveal a golden suit of armor, before later reemerging in an eye-catching sequined body suit.

Nas first ensemble required multiple members of his team and even some Met Gala staff to help lift his train up as he stepped onto the red carpet.

The Old Town Road rapper glowed in a silk gold cloak with ornate floral stitching running up the front seam, which got some extra sparkle thanks to jewels sewn into it.

It had a thick upturned collar and shoulder padding, and the floral decorations ran all around the hem of the long train.

The voluminous look nearly swallowed up the musician, and only his head was visible in the look.

He had small cat-eye accents painted in gold on the sides of his eyes, and he wore a gleaming diamond grill over his smile.

Lil Nas X’s cloak was just the appetizer, and he removed the royal look to reveal himself to be a knight in shining armor underneath.

The outfit, also by Atelier Versace, appeared to have some gold-sprayed cloth sleeves, but the majority seemed to be rigid armored components.

He had on a chest plate that was molded to his impressive abs, and the suit included extra shoulder armor.

The suit had metal clasps running up his back, which would likely require help to remove.

He rounded out the shining ensemble with chunky black boots decorated with gold plates.

Lil Nas X’s outfit turned out to be a nesting doll of sorts, as he had a third look hidden underneath his suit.

He had attendants help remove the plates to reveal a third golden-brown bodysuit — also from Versace — that was covered in glittering sequins and beads.

It was decorated with paisley-like teardrops and circles over his legs and arms, and it zipped up the front.

Nas unzipped it just a bit to show off his chest and his gold Cuban links around his throat.

The rapper also had his nails painted gold to match all three of his outfits for the evening.

He walked the red carpet as the  Met Gala finally comes back after being cancelled in 2020 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This year it was pushed to September from its traditional slot on the first Sunday in May.

The theme is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion and the event features a heavy-hitting contingent of celebrity co-chairs: actor Timothée Chalamet, musician Billie Eilish, poet Amanda Gorman and tennis star Naomi Osaka.

Despite the American theme, Nas seemed to be looking back behind the colonization of America to European history.

His arrival comes after he gave a show-stopping performance of Industry Baby and Montero (Call Me By Your Name) at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday night.

He ended up taking home the top prize, Video of the Year, for his Montero music video.

Nas and all other attendees at this year’s gala are required to have gotten a Covid-19 vaccine.

‘Currently, all attendees at The Met Gala on September 13 must provide proof of full vaccination and will also be expected to wear masks indoors except when eating or drinking,’ a spokesperson for The Met said last month.

This year’s gala will be a more intimate affair, to be followed by a larger one on May 2, 2022. Both will launch a two-part exhibition, a survey of American fashion to be on view for almost a year.

In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, opening Sept. 18, will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the museum’s Costume Institute and ‘explore a modern vocabulary of American fashion,’ the spokesperson added.

Part two, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, will open in the museum’s popular American Wing period rooms on May 5, 2022, and will explore American fashion, with collaborations with film directors, by ‘presenting narratives that relate to the complex and layered histories of those spaces.’ Both parts will close on Sept. 5, 2022.
