Little Mix share first video as a three-piece without Jesy Nelson as they wish fans a Happy New Year

LITTLE Mix have shared their first video as a trio to wish fans a Happy New Year – without former bandmate Jesy Nelson.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall posted a short clip in their Instagram Story to welcome fans around the world into 2021.

But recording as a three-piece didn’t dampen their spirits, as they shouted: “Happy New Year!”

The caption read: “We can’t wait to see you all again very soon. Ps Sweet Melody is the perfect song for the top of your New Year playlists” – with a wink emoji at the end.

The Brit Award-winning girl group looked stunning in matching monochrome outfits, and squealed as a loud pop of baby blue confetti burst in the air.

After the bang, Leigh-Anne, 29 can be heard saying: “Oh, it’s a nice one this time!”

Leigh-Anne, Jesy, Perrie and Jade formed in 2011 on The X Factor, with Jesy’s departure announced in December 2020[/caption]

In an emotional post, Jesy cited mental health reasons and ‘pressure’ for her departure from the mega-successful group[/caption]

It’s perhaps unsurprising that all three women are used to be showered with confetti, given that it’s the title of their sixth album.

Confetti, which contains the hits Sweet Melody and Break Up Song, was released on 6 November, five weeks before Jesy Nelson’s departure was announced.

Jesy, 29, has only shared a few glimpses of life post-Little Mix, though did post her own New Year’s Eve video with her 7.5 million fans.

The singer appeared to be sat on her sofa as she filmed a clip of her dog dancing to a cringeworthy scene in The Inbetweeners Movie, which aired on E4 from 10pm last night.

Meanwhile, it seems Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne are kicking off January 2021 with a few new endeavours.

Perrie, 27, has spent the New Year teasing fans about her new project Disora – with no information bar a mysterious black website called We Are Disora, plus a rapidly-growing Instagram page.

Meanwhile Leigh-Anne recently released her own fashion collection with ASOS – and has been fighting to get planning permission to build a spa at her £5 million Surrey mansion.

And Jade, 28, is rumoured to be in the running for numerous TV presenting gigs, and has been busy moving in with new boyfriend and Rizzle Kicks rapper Jordan Stephens.
