London shooting: Man shot dead while sitting in a Mercedes in Hayes

A man has been found shot dead in the passenger seat of a car in London after it drove into pedestrians and parked cars.

The passenger of a silver Mercedes in Hayes, WestLondon was found to have been killed, after suffering a gunshot wound.

Police and paramedics rushed to West Drayton Road after the car swerved into people in the street, on Thursday.

When they arrived at the scene between the junctions of Morello Avenue and Cherry Grove, at around 2.43pm, they found a man had been shot dead.

However, it is believed the drive-by in which he was injured took place on nearby Uxbridge Road.

Three people were injured by the car when it came hurtling towards them, London Ambulance Service has confirmed.

Their injuries are not believed to be serious.

The Mercedes driver remains with officers from the Metropolitan Police.

A police spokesman said: ‘A silver Mercedes was reported to have collided with a number of pedestrians and vehicles. None of the pedestrians are believed to have serious injuries.

‘A male passenger in the Mercedes was found to be suffering from a suspected gunshot injury. The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and is assisting police.’

Witnesses said paramedics did their best to save the man.

A resident told GetWestLondon: ‘The guy who was shot was taken out of the car and given CPR but he was apparently already dead.

‘Apparently an ambulance taking someone else to hospital was the one that stopped to help.

‘Whether these were decent people or criminals you just do not know.’
