TRAGIC Lottery millionaire Melissa Ede will be laid to rest today as mourners are encouraged to dress “as colourful as possible”.
The flamboyant LGBT campaigner and ex-cabbie died from a heart attack this month aged just 58.
A funeral for transgender Melissa is set to take place today place at Hull’s Chanterlands Crematorium, followed by a private ceremony and then a wake in the city.
Mourners have been told to dress “as colourful as possible – Preferably LGBT style” as the day “celebrates her extraordinary life”.
Melissa was well-known for her barmy online videos and appearances on daytime shows when she scooped £4million on a £10 scratchcard in December 2017.
Her grieving fiancee Rachel Nason, 38, revealed Melissa had passed away suddenly on May 13.
FIANCEE FOUND HER ‘SLUMPED OVER’
She said Melissa had been rushed to hospital just six days before her death and was sent home five hours later with the all clear.
At the time, Melissa said: “I really did think my time was up. My chest was crushing in. I thought, ‘This is it.’
“I told Rachel [her fiancee], ‘I love you so much. Always remember that.”
But when she went out to buy cigarettes a week later, Rachel found her slumped over and dead in her car.
MELISSA ‘DIED FROM HEART ATTACK’
The grieving fiancee wrote on Facebook: “I could hear her car engine revving outside and just assumed she was checking the engine or something and then I looked from the front door could see her slumped in the car.
“I ran to it and started shouting ‘Mel wake up’ but she didn’t even flinch.
“I put my hand on her chest and ear near her mouth but could feel no heartbeat or hear no breath.
“I ran inside and got my phone and called 999. My son had to help me get Mel out the car and onto the floor so I could begin CPR and within minutes the ambulance arrived and took over.
“They tried so hard for what seemed like an eternity but after an hour they asked us to sit down and the paramedic with tears in his eyes told us they tried absolutely everything.”
She revealed her partner had died from Ischemic Heart Disease and suffered acute hemopericardium – causing a sudden heart attack.
‘ONE OF A KIND’
After her initial health scare, Melissa posted a haunting video saying “you’ve got me for a while yet” as she hit back at trolls.
The former cab driver was no stranger to fame, having a popular YouTube channel and an appearance on the Jeremy Kyle show when her daughter found out she was not her biological child.
But daughter Emily insisted she didn’t want a penny of the lotto win.
Tributes have since poured in for the 58-year-old, with friends writing: “Omg r.i.p Mel you was one of a kind you will be sadly missed xxx”
Another added on social media: “So sorry to hear this RIP Mel condolences to her partner and family x”
After scooping the jackpot, Melissa had forked out thousands to change her appearance with a series of cosmetic surgeries.

She also splashed cash on a set of bizarre birthday gifts for her partner Rachel. The unusual presents included a giant condom, a fake slug and a broken tiara.
Melissa had previously vowed not to give any of the cash to her four children, who she says disowned her after she began transitioning from a man twelve years ago.
She had been planning to write an autobiography about her journey to becoming a woman after undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2011.
