LOUISE Redknapp has revealed her “really tough” divorce from Jamie has left her relying on girlfriends from school.
The 44-year-old, who split from the football pundit in 2017 after 19 years of marriage, said on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour today: “Going through a divorce, it being so public. It’s tough.
“No one can take that easily, it’s not an easy thing for women or men or anyone to go through.
“And you rely on your friends, so my girlfriends have been my rock.”
The former Eternal singer continued: “I’ve replied on my female friends. My girlfriends have got me through some times that have been really tough.
“It’s honest and truthful friendships. Most of my friends I’ve known since school.”
Her comments come after The Sun Online revealed that Jamie, who she shares sons Beau, 10, and Charles, 15 with, was dating stunning model Lizzie Bowden.
The 45-year-old former footballer was spotted on a night out with the 34-year-oldwoman who bore a striking resemblance to his ex-wife over the weekend.
The model has starred in campaigns for high street brands including New Look and Wallis, and her Instagram profile is full of pictures from her jet set life.
Since her split from Jamie, Louise has relaunched her career, with a comeback single and a role in 9 To 5: The Musical on the West End.
Yesterday she appeared to take a swipe at her ex when she revealed that he ruins her only day off work every week.
When quizzed if she goes on on Saturday night, she admitted: “We do go out. But Sunday morning is sport morning, I’m on the rugby pitch for four hours.”
“Jamie works a lot on the weekend because he’s at the football,” she explained.
“My older one doesn’t even appreciate it, he’s like, ‘Why are you here?’”
Despite being excited about getting back to work after feeling like a “Stepford wife” during her marriage, Louise admitted she is looking forward to spending the summer with her boys.
