Magaluf tourist, 18, stabbed in the stomach with a broken bottle in 6am ‘robbery’ on beachfront

An 18-year-old tourist has suffered “significant injuries” after being stabbed in Magaluf with a broken bottle.

The incident happened at 6am this morning and details are still coming in but it is believed to be connected to an attempted robbery on the beach front. The man’s nationality has not yet been confirmed.

He was rushed to the Son Espases hospital in Palma in a serious condition. The Civil Guard is already investigating.

The emergency services had rushed to Contralmirante Ferragut street in Magaluf following a report that a young man had been stabbed.

The Civil Guard, police and medics all attended and the victim was treated at the scene. He was stabilised before being taken on to hospital.

It is understood the teenager was stabbed in the abdomen by another man who was wielding the broken bottle.

Witnesses are saying that the tourist was in the beach area with three friends when a man tried to rob them. When they tried to get him away, he picked up a bottle, smashed it into pieces and struck the 18-year-old.

At the moment, no arrest has been made.

The teenager’s stomach wound is being described as “very deep” and he is in a serious condition in hospital.
