JOSE MOURINHO has held talks with Manchester United chiefs and demanded more money to invest in his squad.
The United boss still wants to splash the cash this summer as he eyes a charge at the Premier League title.
The Red Devils have forked out around £75m already during this transfer window, on Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.
But Mourinho sat down with Old Trafford’s money men last week, and urged for a further cash injection.
He wants to add more firepower into his team from midfield and would also like defensive reinforcements.
A United source said: “There was a meeting at Carrington before the squad flew out for their pre-season tour.
“It was between Jose and the money men. The Glazers will also have their say on everything.
“There has been a few updates on negotiations and a few new names have been thrown into the ring.”
Meanwhile, it emerged earlier today that Mourinho has grown fed up with Anthony Martial and is ready to let him leave.

The ex-Chelsea chief has grown frustrated with him and his agent’s desperate attempts to force a move away.
The 22-year-old put in a dreadful performance during United’s 0-0 pre-season draw with San Jose Earthquakes.
And Mourinho will now demand £50m for him, but will refuse to sell to another Premier League side.
