Matthew Perry’s ex-lover has claimed that the actor asked her to buy heroin and cocaine while she was five months pregnant amid his battle with drug addiction that saw him take ’80 Vicodin a day’ and caused him to once superglue his hands to his legs.
Kayti Edwards, who was intimate with Perry and stayed close to him in the early 2000s, told The Sun that Perry asked her in 2011 to get him drugs because no one would suspect a pregnant woman.
‘He [would say], “No one’s going to pull over a pregnant girl. Don’t worry,”‘ she said.
‘He would set it up and say, “Ok, go to this address and meet this person, they’re going to come out and hand you a bag”. I’d drive straight to him.’
Edwards said when she got the bag of items ‘it was just like a smorgasbord’ of pills, cocaine and sometimes heroin and crack.
‘There were times I’d be like, “How can somebody do this much stuff and not die”,’ Edwards said, adding that ’80 Vicodin a day, that’s lethal’.

‘You never knew what you were going to get,’ Edwards told the Sun, adding that though she never did drugs with Perry, but she wanted to stop him from getting caught.
In the interview with the Sun, Edwards said: ‘I look back and think, “What kind of friend was I?” [But] I wanted to help him.
‘He’d give me this guilt trip like, “If you don’t get me this I’m just gonna go there myself and walk downtown”,’ she said.
‘I was like, “No, no, no, I’ll just do it for you” because I didn’t want him in his state of mind to A, be driving, and B, be wandering around the streets… It was kind of weird, our relationship turned toxic. I couldn’t say no,’ Edwards said.
Edwards, who said they pair slept together on a number of occasion but never officially dated, also claimed that she would even deliver the drugs to Perry while he was on set.
At the time, he was filming the TV show, Mr Sunshine at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
‘I remember I would go to Paramount, up to the gate, and I’d say, “I’m here to see Matthew”. I would drive through and he would just be in the trailer. I would think, “How can you be working right now?” she told the news site.
Edwards said that Perry ‘wasn’t a functioning addict’ and ‘wasn’t fooling anybody’ with his addiction.
She said his Friends co-stars and people within his inner circle started to distance themselves from him, prompting him to realize that he needed an intervention.

‘They didn’t want anything to do with him, he was kind of on the outs with them, only because they didn’t want to see him like that, it was really hard,’ she said.
Edwards also claimed that Perry paid her to get the drugs for him.
But Perry also paid Edwards to get the drugs.
‘I was making all this money. I just had to drive, pick it up, bring it to him, boom, sometimes three times a day, sometimes I made like $3,000-$4,000 a day. He would always say to me, “Money is no object”. I was like, “Oh my God”,’ Edwards told the Sun.
Edwards recalled how the crippling addiction caused Perry, who is now engaged to his fiancee Molly Hurwitz, 29, to superglue his hands to his legs.
She said he once even ‘wandered into the neighbor’s pool naked and was swimming’ while high on drugs.

The actor, who checked himself into rehab during his time on Friends once in 1997 and again in 2001, told the Hollywood Reporter in 2015: ‘I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I learned a lot from my failures.
‘But the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic comes up to me and says, “Will you help me stop drinking?” I will say, “Yes, I know how to do that.”‘
Perry’s addiction came about after he got hooked on prescription pills following a jet ski accident.
He did his third stint in rehab in May 2011, when a representative for the star said it was to prevent a relapse.
