Meet the police officer and paramedic sisters who race to the same emergency call-outs

As sporty and active youngsters, identical twins Natalia and Melissa Croney were never destined for desk jobs.

But while Melissa sought out a career in the police as a firearms officer, Natalia chose the ambulance service.

Now the sisters, 42, regularly find themselves racing to the same emergency – and are often confused for each other.

Both live in Chiswick, west London, and work on the same side of the capital. They say their ‘telepathic sisterly bond’ helps them work together like a ‘well-oiled machine’.

Natalia said: ‘Often people will come up to me and say, “I didn’t know you had become a paramedic”, not realising I’m Mel’s twin.

‘And I know Mel once turned up to a road accident and the ambulance crew started handing her defibrillators, thinking she was me.’
