MEGAN Barton Hanson has confessed that her “whole world is crumbling” after ex Wes Nelson, 20, revealed that he is focusing on “being happy”.
The 24-year-old Love Island star also filmed herself trying to scrape her ex boyfriend’s name off a personalised Christmas gift that they had received from her mum at Christmas.
The pair hit the headlines after Megan announced their split at the weekend, with the model seemingly taking the break-up with a pinch of salt as she mimicked Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s infamous “consciously uncoupling” announcement in her own.
However, she appears to be struggling more than she initially let on, taking to her Instagram story to open up to her fans.
The reality star wrote: “Hands down one of the worst days of my life.
“I can’t thank you enough for the support. It makes it all worth while (the endless trolling, negative stories, dealing with publicly breaking up, being papped having to force a smile when my whole world is crumbling).
“Feels like I can’t put a foot right BUT knowing I can help motivate/ inspire people even a TINY bit makes me want to continue on in the public eye.
“I’m determined to make 2019 a positive and happy year.”
She then showed off the cheese board Christmas gift, saying: “So my mum got me and Wes a cheese board for Christmas after our cheese and wine night with the lube in the background.
“But we didn’t even get a chance to use it.”
Scraping at Wes’ name with one of the instruments, Megan continued: “At least these cheese tools can come in handy!”
The remarks come after Wes took to his own social media page to share a throwback snap of himself grinning in his swimming trunks while abroad.
He simply captioned the snap: “Being happy is a way of life not a destination.”
The pair recently unfollowed each other on Instagram, with Megan dubbing the past seven days “the worst week” of her life earlier today.
The reality star admitted that her anxiety was “through the roof” before being pictured grinning as she stepped out of her London home just hours after cancelling her appearance on Heart FM due to illness.
Despite unfollowing her ex beau on social media, Megan was spotted cheering Wes on from the Dancing On Ice crowd on Sunday night.
The model was joined by friends as she supported her ex and his professional partner Vanessa Bauer.
Speaking on air, Jamie said at the time: “I feel for her, I hope she gets better… She looked fine on the show last night.”
Jamie’s co-host Lucy Hoborin replied: “Do you know what, sometimes you can put your face on and look fabulous but inside you don’t feel great.
“If she’s had the week she’s had, she could just be doing that brave face but then wake up in the morning and just go, ‘You know what, I just can’t face today’.

“And if that’s the case, Megan we wish you all the best and hope to get you on the show soon.”
It has been a difficult week for Megan, who hit the headlines last weekend when she publicly lashed out at Vanessa for being “disrespectful” of her and Wes’ relationship.
