Last year they spend Thanksgiving in private, and the day before had cooked a meal with the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen.

Yesterday they shared a previously unseen loved-up photo from their wedding day to celebrate it being two years since their engagement was announced.

The Sussexes are not taking part in a major gathering of the British monarchy next Tuesday, when the Queen will lead her family in welcoming Nato leaders, including US president Donald Trump, to Buckingham Palace for a reception marking 70 years of the alliance.

Meghan, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, are currently taking a six-week break away from royal duties to spend some much-needed time as a family.

Markle, who was born in Los Angeles, is said to be keen to spend the November 28 holiday with her mum, and wants her six-month-old son to grow up aware of his American heritage.

It has already been announced the Sussexes will not be spending Christmas Day with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at her private Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The Queen is said to be supportive of Meghan and Harry’s plans and it follows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s past decision to spend Christmas with Kate’s parents, and not with the Queen.

Food fanatic Meghan used to give recipes and tips on her blog The Tig before she met Harry.

When she was an actress in Suits, she showed off her culinary skills on her now-defunct blog The Tig.

She was pictured next to a perfectly roasted turkey in 2016, and captured the photo: “Oh, that time I roasted a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey!

“The question is, can I do it again? The pressure is on!”

She also shared a photo of mum Doria and her dad Thomas Markle’s hands writing: “Giving thanks for so many things – including these two gems, who brought me into this world. Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.”

In other royal news, William and Kate will be at Sandringham for Christmas with George, six, Charlotte, four and Louis, one.
