Mel B wants Spice Girls to accept big money deal for Las Vegas residency

SIN City has tempted big Brit names, with Elton John, Robbie Williams and Tom Jones all landing Las Vegas residencies.

But the next big thing to park up on the strip could be the Spice Girls.

The Spice Girls have been offered a big-money deal for a Las Vegas residency by The Colosseum in Caesars Palace

They have been offered a big-money deal at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

And I’m told Mel B is pushing her bandmates to get on board.

A source said: “The girls haven’t committed to a full US tour, but their production team think a residency could be the perfect fit.

“There is massive money on the table depending on how their UK tour goes.

“When Celine Dion leaves The Colosseum next June the owners are planning a refurb and want a flagship act to get punters back when it reopens.

Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton all have commitments but a residency means they could dip in and out when it suits them, rather than having to put everything on hold for a tour of the US.

“Mel B is keen to make it happen as she has a history with Caesars after her burlesque production, Peepshow, was based there in 2009, so she’s totally behind the idea.

“And her main base is Los Angeles so it would be a perfect fit for her.

The girls begin their tour at Dublin’s Croke Park on May 24[/caption]

“If the UK tour is as successful as everyone thinks it will be, this could be a very lucrative deal for them.”

The band’s first date is at Dublin’s Croke Park on May 24 — but Mel B was unable to join the girls’ London rehearsals last week and stayed in LA.

But over the weekend she tried to stop fans worrying — sharing a video of herself practising the choreography with her youngest daughter Madison.

I get the sentiment, but Mel needs to hurry up and get to London.

At this rate, it won’t just be stayaway Victoria Beckham who’s out of step . . .

Kylie single at Glasto

SHE has only just finished the final leg of her epic world tour, yet Kylie Minogue is already working on new music.

The Aussie pop princess released her previous album, Golden, in April, 2018, before embarking on her seven-month tour of the same name in September.

But rather than taking a well-earned break, Kylie wants her next release to be ready by the summer.

A source said: “Kylie’s been writing and recording new music for a while and its likely fans will hear some of the material when she plays Glastonbury in June.

“She’s just registered a song called A Rose Is A Rose, which she wrote with producer EG White.

“He worked with Kylie on her most recent album and has written songs for big-name artists including Adele and Celine Dion.”

Kylie’s last album went straight to the No1 spot and there is no doubt her next offering will do the same.

Bring on Glastonbury…

BRITNEY SPEARS was forced to cancel her Las Vegas residency as she was “mentally incapable” of performing, US reports have claimed.

She binned the six-months of shows in January, saying she had to care for her sick dad.

But insiders last night called the excuse “complete nonsense” used for “damage control.”

Sources say her state of mind had worsened to the point she was not able to care for herself – let alone her dad.

Britney, who was seen for the first time yesterday since checking into a mental health clinic at the end of last month “was in no condition mentally to take on a rigorous schedule of rehearsals and performances”, it was claimed.

In January Britney wrote: “I will not be performing my new show Domination.

“I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time.”

Let’s hope she’s finally receiving the help she needs.

Perry purple Katy

KATY PERRY was painted purple and wore this octopus outfit for American Idol’s Disney-themed show.

The singer was so into her character as Little Mermaid villain Ursula, she used her iconic line about “poor unfortunate souls” on Instagram when telling followers they needed to pick up the phones and save her acts.

Co-judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan didn’t get the dress-up memo and just wore their normal outfits – spoilsports.

  • ANNE HATHAWAY plans to fall off the wagon big time when her son Jonathan, now three, is older. She quit booze to spend more time with him than nursing a hangover, and says: “I’m going to raise a good human being, get him off to college then move to a vineyard and spend my life sloshed, happy, sun-drenched.”
  • LIAM GALLAGHER has promised he’ll be blasting out never-before-heard songs during his set on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in June. He told fans he will introduce “s**tloads” of new tracks during his set. Oasis fans needn’t worry, as he’s vowed to play some of the band’s classics, including Songbird.
  • K-POP sensations BTS have become the first band since The Beatles to score three No1 albums on the US’s Billboard 200 chart in less than a year. The seven lads, who had their breakthrough four years ago with hit track I Need U, are coming to the UK this summer to play sell-out Wembley shows at the start of June.
  • BRIT rapper Not3s’s new single Wanting has been named by Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac as World’s Hottest Record. The grime star worked with Cardi B producer Scribz Riley on his latest offering, released today. Fans will be able to see him perform later this year at Wireless Festival and at Reading and Leeds.

Just sings Sorry and says ‘sorry’

AFTER taking a break from music, Justin Bieber made a return to the stage on Sunday for his first live performance in two years.

The troubled singer joined Ariana Grande during her final set in California at US festival Coachella.

After belting out his hit Sorry, Justin went on to apologise if he sounded rusty, saying he had been trying hard to get his “groove back” before adding “album coming soon”.

Kanye West took his Sunday Service to the event, where he gives his hits the gospel treatment.

Wife Kim Kardashian was among the thousands who watched.

Some of his fans weren’t impressed when he started flogging his “church clothes” merch afterwards, though.

The rapper wanted £38.50 for a pair of socks and £192 for a posh hoodie.

At those prices, there wouldn’t be too many happy clappers queueing.

KATIE PRICE says she has “no option” but to send son Harvey into residential care.

The TV star branded herself “selfish” for wanting to keep Harvey, who is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome, at home.

Louis turns over a new leaf

LOUIS TOMLINSON is to change the direction of his music following the death of his sister Félicité last month.

He told fans: “Everything I’ve ever known, in my career, is straight-down-the-middle pop.

“My expectations and aspirations are all shaped around my experiences. As much as I try and stay realistic I couldn’t help but crave a hit single.

“It’s because of this I’ve spent so long on this album, when in fact maybe I should start with what I love and work from there instead.

“I’ve put a lot of things into perspective. What I should be doing is forgetting about perception and to a certain degree worry less about commercial success.

“I’m not here to compete with the likes of Drake and Ariana Grande. I’m here to make music I love and make my fans proud to say they’re a fan. Turning a page today.”

Sounds interesting.
