He had been admitted to the hospital for treatment  just three days earlier.

A postmortem and subsequent toxicology examination later established that the child’s death was due to the administration of non-prescribed medication, Sussex Police said.

The prosecution follows a complex investigation by the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit.

On Saturday, Mehmetaliogullari was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on September 28.

Mustafa and his mother had been living in Sedlescombe, East Sussex, prior to his admission to hospital.
