A MYSTERY duck killer turned out to be a randy drake nicknamed Donald.
Nine victims were found dead at a pond, sparking rumours of fowl play.
But the culprit was a dominant drake who drowned them by jumping on their backs to mate.
Witness Jack Lonsdale, 35, of Diss, Norfolk, said: “Donald is much fiercer than the other males, especially when it’s the mating season.

“We’ve seen him chase off or attack rivals. Then, when he’s got all the females to himself, he dashes round trying to mate with all of them.
“He’s so powerful, he often pushes them under the water. Luckily the kids haven’t seen it.”
Martin Fowlie, of the RSPB, confirmed: “Mallards have quite a violent mating ritual.”
