BIRMINGHAM has been revealed as the luckiest city in the UK for hitting the Lotto jackpot.
The National Lottery has revealed the postcodes with the most winners as part of its 25th birthday celebrations.
Of the 5,500 millionaires made since it launched in 1994, 168 are from the Birmingham area.
That is streets ahead of the 133 from second-luckiest Belfast and 125 in third-placed Glasgow.
Brum postcode winners include Dawn and Malcolm Bosworth, who scooped £5.8million in 2015, and Paul and Marie Kibler with £2.2million a year later.
For prizes of more than £50,000, Galashiels has had the most winners per head of population. One in every 894 players in the tiny Scottish Borders town has banked a big prize.

National Lottery winners’ adviser Andy Carter said: “We go to every corner of the country to pay out big prizes and make millionaires.”
He added: “Thanks to our National Lottery players, 565,000 Good Cause grants have been given out to projects big and small.
“That’s the equivalent of 200 life-changing projects in every UK postcode district making a huge impact on communities all over the country.”
