It has been almost a year, Netflix had purchased Millarworld, the publisher of comics founded in 2004 by Mark Millar, and that has allowed him to develop his own universe, parallel to the stories of Marvel and DC Comics. After the success of several adaptations on the big screen (Kick-Ass and Kingsman), the giant of the streaming was decided to produce two series and three original movies, from other comics of Mark Millar.
After Marvel and the Defenders, Netflix offers super-heroes by Mark Millar
Although there is so far no release date, Jupiter”s Legacy and American Jesus are the first two comics of Mark Millar to have been ordered by Netflix. The first series is an epic super-heroic, multi-generational following the first generation of superheroes have received their powers in the 1930s. Nowadays, they are protectors revered for their heroism, while their children super-strong, struggling to be at the height of the legendary feats of their parents. This is Steven S. DeKnight, the showrunner of Daredevil, who will Jupiter”s Legacy, and that will be the first of the eight episodes ordered. Everardo Gout (Luke Cage) and Leopoldo Gout (The Great Game) will be, on the other hand, the show runners of’American Jesus. This comic, adapted in six episodes, follows a young boy of 12 years who suddenly discovers that he is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. It can transform water into wine, do it again the paralyzed walk, and maybe even resurrect the dead ! In a conflict that has lasted for thousands of years, one wonders how he will manage this destiny, then he is condemned to rule the world.

As you can see in the video above, the platform has also confirmed the production of three films. Empress tells the story of the Queen Emporia, married to the worst dictator of the universe, the King Morax. After fleeing with her children, Emporia and her family must hide from Morax and his army, even if this involves téléreporter from planet to planet for their escape. The writer Lindsey Beer will adapt this comic book while Joe Roth and Jeff Kirchenbaum (Evil) will. For his part, Ted Melfi (The Figures of The Shadow) will be the scriptwriter of Huck, a super-hero who uses her abilities to do a good deed every day. To thank him, his neighbours to keep the secret about his powers, until one day a new arrival alert the media. This revelation plays completely Huck who is going to embark on an adventure that will change his life. Finally, Sharkey The Bounty Hunter will be adapted and published as a comics Millarworld / Netflix next year, and writer Michael Bacall (21 Jump Street) will be the screenwriter. In a science-fiction universe, mind-blowing, Sharkey is a bounty hunter tracking criminals across the galaxy in his ice cream truck transformed into a rocket. Helped by his partner of 10 years, he embarks on the greatest hunt of his career. In the meantime, we recommend The Magic Order, the first cartoon in Netflix developed by Mark Millar, available since 13 June.
