NTAs 2019: Stars make dazzling arrival on the red carpet

Stars of the silver screen put on a dazzling display as they arrived at the 2019 National Television Awards at London‘s O2 Arena on Tuesday.

Holly Willoughby, Susanna Reid Michelle Keegan, Rochelle Humes, Emily Atack, Jack Fincham, Dani Dyer and Sarah-Jayne Dunn were among the celebrities attending the biggest night in the TV calendar, as they posed up on the red carpet.

This Morning host Holly, 37, looked sensational in a semi-sheer polka dot ballgown, which flared into a dramatic tulle skirt.

The clinging bodice, adorned with a fabric rose, showcased the star’s toned frame and cinched in at her slender waist.

A floor length skirt teased a glimpse of her toned legs as she wowed on the red carpet.

Her blonde tresses were pulled back into a stylish chignon, while her pretty features were enhanced with feline flicks of liner, metallic shadow, and a slick of rose gloss.

Wow: Susanna Reid, 48, put on a very busty display in a keyhole cut-out sequinned gown as she joined GMB co-host Piers Morgan

Our Girl star and NTA nominee Michelle, 31, threw it back with a flirty prom-style dress, with pouffed sleeves and a puffball skirt as she cosied up to husband Mark Wright, 32.

The off-the-shoulder white gown revealed her perky cleavage while the thigh-skimming skirt showcased the star’s toned legs which she added height to with black stiletto sandals.

The brunette beauty’s raven tresses were styled sleek and straight while her gorgeous features were enhanced with a rich palette of make-up.

Extra presenter Mark looked typically handsome in a suit and white shirt as he hugged his wife.

Saturdays singer Rochelle, 29, looked stunning in a white Grecian-style gown with a statement shoulder strap which hugged her gym honed curves.

Here we go: Rochelle Humes and Emily Atack  were also among the glamorous arrivals

The stylish gown flared into a sweeping skirt, while she added height to her look with silver strappy sandals.

The presenter’s curly locks were styled in a pretty side parting, while feline flicks of liner, smoky shadow and a candied pink gloss accentuated her pretty features.

I’m A Celebrity star Emily Atack, 28, flaunted her toned legs in a thigh-split black gown which brought the Old Hollywood glamour.

The stunning gown hugged her slender waist before flowing into a tulle polka dot dress.

She boosted her height with black stilettos.

The Inbetweeners actress wore her caramel tresses in loose, vintage-inspired waves while metallic shadow and a bold scarlet lipstick accentuated her pretty features.

Scarlett Moffatt, 29, had her amazing figure on full display as she sported the form-fitting black gown, which also showed off her pins as it boasted a semi-sheer side panel.

The former Gogglebox star showed off her ample cleavage in the frock’s plunging front which also had pretty feathered embellishment on the shoulders.

Although her shoes were hidden under the lengthy dress, Scarlett kept her accessories to a minimum for the occasion, opting for just a pair of simple silver stud earrings.

After posting a slew of snaps of her outfit on social media, Scarlett defiantly told fans they could wear whatever they wished, writing in the caption: ‘What type of body shape suits a gown ladies? ANY body shape!!’

Highlighting her tanned complexion, Scarlett went for a heavy and dramatic bronzed smoky eye for the grand occasion, and along with defined nude lip and matching brows, looked stunning for the star-studded occasion.

Hollyoaks actresses Sarah-Jayne Dunn and Alex Fletcher looked gorgeous as they led the soap’s arrivals.

Look of love: Love Island winners Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer were the picture of romance as they cosied up before they take on the backstage correspondents role at the awards

The National Television Awards mark one of the most exciting nights in British TV, with faces from reality, scripted drama and comedy, soaps and quiz shows hoping to scoop a gong.

Held at London’s O2, 2019’s shortlist sees the likes of Killing Eve, Bodyguard and The Cry battle it out as some of the most talked-about new shows of the past 12 months.

Other nominated newbies include Robbie Williams for his maiden turn as an X Factor judge, and Jodie Whittaker for her incarnation of Doctor Who – the first time a woman has ever played the role.

Jodie will battle it out against the likes of Killing Eve leading ladies Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, as well as Bodyguard stars Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes.

These shows crop up in the fledgling New Drama category, freshly launched this year.

In the Best TV Judge category, David Walliams, Louis Tomlinson, Judge Rinder and Simon Cowell will square off against Robbie.

As is the case every year, the UK’s favourite soaps – Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks – will be pitted against one another in the Serial Drama category.

Soap actors Bonnie Langford, Danny Dyer, Emma Atkins, Jack P Shepherd and Lucy Pargeter are all gunning for the Serial Drama Performance gong.

Also a recurring fixture, Dermot O Leary will present the ceremony – with last year’s Love Island winners Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer hosting the backstage reactions.

In what is perhaps a shock to some, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are nominated for the Best Presenters category – a prize they have taken home every year since 2001.

The pair, however, have spent the majority of the past 12 months apart professionally, thanks to Ant’s recovery from pain killer addiction. Dec continued his work on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! without Ant – yet they are up for an award as a twosome.

Ant will return to these shows in 2019 however.

The annual Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award will see both Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fight All Round To Mrs Brown’s, Love Island and The Graham Norton Show for perhaps the most prestigious accolade of the evening.

The Comedy category features several shows that have either aired or are currently airing their last ever seasons this year: Benidorm, Peter Kay’s Car Share and The Big Bang Theory. They will be up against Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father and Mrs Brown’s Boys.

ITV steal the show when it comes to the Daytime category, with Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, This Morning and The Jeremy Kyle Show on the shortlist. The only non-ITV programme in that category is Sunday Brunch, which airs on Channel 4.

Factual Entertainment progammes The Great British Bake Off, Gogglebox, Paul O’Grady: For The Love Of Dogs, Ambulance and DIY SOS: The Big Build are battling it out for an accolade.

Quiz shows Catchphrase, Pointless, The Chase, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and A League Of Their Own are hoping to win, while the Talent Show award is being coveted by Britain’s Got Talent, Dancing On Ice, Strictly Come Dancing, The Voice UK and The X Factor.

The awards, which look certain to be the most exciting and closely-fought yet, hand over power to the viewers, who have been voting since October.
