NXT Takeover: WarGames RESULTS: Kevin Owens makes shock return as AEW star Britt Baker is spotted on WWE TV at ringside

KEVIN OWENS shocked the WWE Universe with a surprise return to the NXT at TakeOver: WarGames.

Triple H made a passionate plea to the KO on Monday Night Raw for the former Universal Champion to return to his old stomping ground.

He helped Tommaso Ciampa’s WarGames team to victory over Undisputed Era

And his words appear to have hit home as he emerged as fourth member of Tommaso Ciampa’s WarGames team.

That was not the only surprise either in the clash against Undisputed Era – with AEW star Britt Baker also being shown at ringside as she watched on in horror as her husband Adam Cole suffered defeat following a bruising encounter.

Midway through the main event it looked like Undisputed Era had a 4-on-3 numbers advantage of Ciampa, Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic.

The countdown clock for the mystery fourth member came and went, but finally after a lengthy silence, Owens’ music hit as he marched towards the ring.

He originally wrestled in NXT from late 2014 until being called up to the main roster the following year.

And he celebrated his return by helping his team to victory.

The finish came when Ciampa pinned Cole after a huge drop from the top of the steel structure through a table.

And the camera cut to the horrified Baker, who was sat ringside, after the mega bump from her fella.

Cole will defend his NXT Title against Pete Dunne at Survivor Series after the Englishman earlier defeated Damian Priest (via pinfall) and Killian Dain to become No.1 contender.

Finn Balor escaped from the Bromission to spike Matt Riddle with a 1916 DDT to claim victory over the ex-UFC fighter.

Meanwhile, the Women’s WarGames match was just as exciting as their main counterparts.

Dakota Kai executed a brutal heel turn as she kicked former best friend Tegan Nox in the face before battering her and walking off.

That left just Rhea Ripley and Candice LeRae as the only two survivors for their team.

Ripley found herself locked up in handcuffs, and then Baszler was able to lock her in the Kirifuda Clutch.

However, Ripley escaped by slapping the NXT Women’s Champ with the open end of the handcuffs.

Then, after dodging a kick, she hit Baszler with a Riptide onto two chairs and claiming the three count.
