Paedo publicist Max Clifford’s ‘cold prison showers and unheated cell contributed to his death’

PAEDO publicist Max Clifford moaned about cold showers “every day” in the weeks before his death, an inquest has heard.

The perv, 74, spent his final days whining about his “unheated” cell in HMP Littlehey – a far cry from his £3.5m Surrey manor.

Max’s daughter Louise says prison conditions contributed to his death

Daughter Louise claims the jail conditions had “an influence on his detrioration” before he was struck down by a fatal heart attack in December 2017.

Huntingdon Law Courts heard how the disgraced PR guru complained about his conditions “every day” before he keeled over with congestive heart failure.

The pre-inquest review hearing was told consultant cardiologist Prof Jon Townend had provided an expert review of Clifford’s heart failure.

A heart expert has been called to review whether the jail conditions contributed to his death.

Before he was caged for a horrifying list of sex offences, Clifford said of his manor: “The house is perfect for helping me relax.

“It has so much space and is surrounded by greenery – it’s the total opposite of all the buildings, traffic, congestion and noise of London.

“The house is so relaxing and gentle that some might call it bland. But because I’ve got so much excitement in my life, the quieter and gentler everything is at home, the better.”

Showbiz publicist Clifford – whose clients included Muhammad Ali and Big Brother star Jade Goody – was arrested by cops from Operation Yewtree in 2012.

He was convicted of eight attacks on four teenagers aged 15 to 19 between 1977 and 1984. He always protested his innocence.
