CRYSTAL PALACE have signed goalkeeper Lucas Perri on loan from Sao Paulo until the end of the season following Julian Speroni’s howler at Anfield.
The veteran shot-stopper played his first game in 13 months last week, where his calamitous error gifted Liverpool the lead against the Eagles.
Palace were forced to turn to the 39-year-old due to injuries picked up by both Wayne Hennessey and Vicente Guaita.
Roy Hodgson’s side have acted fast to sign a new man between the sticks, with the club having the option to turn Perri’s loan spell into a permanent deal.
Speaking the Palace’s website, Perri said of his move: “It’s an amazing feeling, I’m really glad to join the club.
“Two months ago, I knew [about] the possibility to join Palace. Since then, I was pretty anxious to be here because I really wanted that. It’s huge, it’s a really important thing to me.
