A British woman who revealed a hilarious sleep talking story has started a viral thread of weird and wonderful tales others have remembered while in the land of nod.
Writing on Mumsnet, the unnamed woman admitted that while she rarely talks in her sleep, she nudged her other half and asked him to ‘check the little man was still in the cupboard’ during the middle of the night.
After he confirmed that the cupboard was indeed empty, she then asked others to share any amusing stories they could recall whilst being asleep.
The thread received a flurry of hilarious tales from Mumsnet users who told their funny stories – including one who shared a chat with Jon Bon Jovi whilst enjoying a takeaway with Meatloaf and Barack Obama, and another whose husband told her he’d bought a boat.

‘I’m notorious for talking in my sleep,’ replied one. ‘My personal favourite that DH recorded on his phone was the in-depth conversation I had with Jon Bon Jovi about his food preferences while we were having a Chinese takeaway with Meatloaf and Barack Obama.’
And food being on the brain seemed like a popular theme – much to the disappointment of one woman who thought her partner was being romantic.
‘When my DP and I first got together, I thought he was being romantic mumbling something, so I asked him to repeat what he’d said so I could know for sure,’ she recalled. ‘I got his usual Greggs order.’
A third remembered: ‘I once woke DH up at 3am to get his National Insurance number and tax code. It was urgent because the police were at the door demanding it, apparently,’ while another wrote:
‘Right before Christmas, my husband woke me up to tell me he bought a boat and not to be cross with him. We don’t own a boat.’

Meanwhile, others who were more active in their sleep told of their worrying movements during the night.
‘My sister used to sleepwalk thinking her feet were where her knees are (so walking around on her knees),’ penned one. ‘All fun and games until stairs are involved……’
A second recalled: ‘I once disturbed my then BF and another couple by sleep swimming. Apparently its noisy and not very restful if someone’s doing front crawl in bed,’ while a third said:
‘On a regular basis I’ll get up and change my clothes in the middle of the night. ‘I’ll go to bed in PJs and wake up in jeans and a jumper. I’m 36 and have been doing this since childhood.’
In a more extreme circumstance, one guy even found himself in a completely different street after he set out on an adventure in the early hours.
‘My brother slept walked while we were on holiday in France when he was about 14,’ explained one. ‘He woke up three streets away wrapped in a sheet, luckily he found an English family to help him.’
