Piers Morgan defends Susanna Reid as he mocks cruel troll who told her ‘you’re not all that’

PIERS Morgan has leaped to Susanna Reid’s defence after she was targeted by a cruel troll on Twitter yesterday.

The outspoken 53-year-old star proved that he has his co-host’s back as he mocked the perpetrator during today’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

Piers impersonated the troll as he mocked the cruel tweet

Speaking to viewers at home, 48-year-old Susanna said: “Basically, I got trolled on Twitter – it’s a regular occurrence, it happens every four minutes.

“Phil Cox tweeted me yesterday very sweetly – it’s nice when you open fan mail – he said…”

Before Susanna could finish speaking, Piers interrupted, putting on a ridiculous voice as he mocked the troll and read out the tweet that he’d sent to Susanna.

The tweet read: “You are so far up your own a** Reid it’s unbelievable!!!

The troll told Susanna to ‘grow up’

“And when sat next to Piers you make these stupid faces when he is speaking.

“GROW UP. You’re not all that.”

Addressing his impersonation, Piers continued: “That’s basically how I always imagine these trolls to be.

“And he spelt ‘you’re’ wrong, obviously, because he’s a thick troll.”

Piers defended his co-host

Susanna continued: “I just replied in a similar vein, saying: “Sorry Phil, can’t hear you up here…”

Piers interjected yet again, saying: “And Monica Lewinsky then tweeted ‘One of the best clapbacks I’ve seen’, which I think is a real badge of honour.

“She’s a legend, we all know who she is and we all know why we know who she is.”

Susanna added: “And she gets trolling too.”

Piers continued: “She’s made a career out of being a professional troll victim.

“Bill Clinton carried on, obviously, and she was the one left behind to pick up the pieces.”

Yesterday, Piers was left fuming when Susanna repeatedly interrupted him as he tried to rant about “violent women” during Good Morning Britain.

The rent-a-gob snapped “Can I finish?!” as Susanna gave her co-host a taste of his own medicine, giggling as she admitted that she was getting her own back on the star, who regularly interrupts her on the show.
