Quality Long Walk Hurdle in store as former winners Sam Spinner and Unowhatimeanharry set to lock horns

The final Grade 1 before Christmas is set to provide racing fans with the ultimate present.

With former winners Sam Spinner and Unowhatimeanharry on course to clash, Saturday’s Long Walk Hurdle looks a contest to savour.

Also confirmed for the race is brilliant chaser Top Notch, who would be returning to the smaller obstacles for the first time since the 2016 Cheltenham Festival if taking his chance.

Owners Simon Munir and Issac Souede could be doubly represented as they’ve also entered 2-1 favourite Call Me Lord, while recent Kempton winner Younevercall may step up to Grade 1 level for the first time.

Staying supremo Agrapart will need to bounce back from a couple of disappointing performances, as will Colin Tizzard’s West Approach, who finished a well-beaten fifth in the Ladbrokes Trophy last month.

Progressive youngster If The Cap Fits is one of the more exciting entries, as is Paisley Park, who looks a stayer on the up.

Momella came to grief behind Unowhatimeanharry at Ascot last time but had yet to be asked for her effort and could line up for shrewdie Harry Fry.

Nicky Henderson could make things interesting with the unexposed Soul Emotion, last seen bolting up in a very competitive handicap last season.

Garo De Juilley and The Mighty Don complete the possible field.
