And after a 4-0 capitulation at Everton last weekend, 21-year-old Rashford did not mince his words.

He told Sky Sports: “It was quite clear tonight who the better team was.

“Tonight we didn’t play like Man United and that’s been the last couple of weeks to be honest.

“That’s not right. Bare minimum it should be to work hard for the badge, for the supporters and just for the club, but important to do it for yourself as well.

“It’s been a tough road to get where we were, we were never expected to be in this position.

“To not be putting in the performances we were it’s disappointing for the players and the last couple of weeks we know what’s been going wrong and it’s just a matter of putting it back how it was.”

United’s miserable run has seen them dumped out of Europe by Barcelona.

And their top-four hopes have taken a huge hit despite Chelsea and Arsenal also dropping points.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s honeymoon period is well and truly over and the Norwegian needs results to show he is not heading for an early divorce from the club he loves.

United face Chelsea, Huddersfield and Cardiff in their final three matches looking to close the three-point gap to Chelsea in fourth.
