So. A little background. I’m from London so we have an oyster card that we use on public transport. You top it up and tap it when you get on the bus or the train. With the newer ones, you can put it on an app to top up and you can see the last journey on that card.
To the story.
I was coming home from work and left my purse on the bus. Stupid I know. So I froze my card and waited till the next day to call in at the bus station (as the office was shut at this time). I called in the next day and no purse was handed in. Fuck. Oh well I thought. I reported it to the police and thought that was that.
Then I get a notification that someone had used my oyster to go into town. It wasn’t a short trip either. Its an hour long journey they took. I told my roommate what happened. Being the devious little mofo she is she said “did they top it up” I replied yes. She smirked and then said “lets take the money they just put on it and strand them where they are”.
So she sat us down and cancelled the card and took back the £5 they just topped up on it. So the card will no longer work. They are now stranded an hour way from home.
Revenge is best served petty.
I worked at a Resort in Ontario Canada and was a hard worker for years and was promoted from a server to Dining room manager in a venue that seats 100+ guests. I had to travel to Toronto many times to learn how to program one of the first touch screen point of sale units available.
It was incredibly hard to program but I became proficient. I was the only one who could change screens and program menus and do inventory and payroll.
After years of service ownership changed and the were firing middle management, so I knew my days were numbered. Sure enough one day they fire me with no warning or severance. I kept my cool and went to collect my stuff. Word spread quickly and the entire waitstaff that night were angry I was leaving.
Much to my surprise the 5 waitstaff that night said fuck it and new owners, and quit on the spot. I was honoured to walk out arm in arm with the entire serving staff on a busy Friday night. On my way out I reached behind the terminal and changed all the dip switches (tiny toggles I was told never to touch). I wish I could have seen the chaos of executives trying to work a restaurant with no way to order food or print bills.
They would have had to pay for a tech to drive 3 hours on a busy weekend. We all got better jobs and the new owners lasted a few months. gordTORONTO
I live on a really narrow street, with parking allowed on one side. The only way I can get out the front is using a gap in the hedge where the path is and that hedge is right up to the street – no sidewalk or even manageable gap. If you park blocking the path I have to either try squeezing beside the car or have to go out through the garage, round the front and up a driveway.
Well it’s pretty obvious that some neighbors aren’t considerable about not parking there, I already asked them if they could park maybe 3 feet further along but they still park like that regardless, and I’m not the type that would go and eat a facefull of bush and twigs scratching their cars trying to walk out in work clothes and with gear.
Instead I involved a 3rd party – all the flocks of birds that used to come to the feeder in my back garden. Over a few weeks I moved the feeders a few yards till they were out front, right under the phone/wire cables, adding a suet block feeder and bird bath too. Seed it and they will come – leaving lots of droppings all over my lawn, the hedge and most of all whichever poor bastards car is parked under the power line.
It’s been a couple of weeks and already one regular parks further along the street and I always see a few white “presents” sitting on the hoods of the two others that park there.
So, the bus department is divided in 2 here and each of the departments has their own boss, HR, etc. When the department my husband works at got a new boss some time ago, the drivers, especially the older ones, doing their job for decades, were unhappy with him for several reasons.
One thing he would do is sneak into the busses in the morning to control if people would check their busses correctly before leaving the premises, which you were obligated to by company rule.
The busses we speak of can be up to 23m long and the first go out at about 4am, so it is still dark and you can hide inside them if you want to.
One day, one of the older drivers goes to his designated bus and sees the boss sitting in the back. The driver is doing this for decades and wants to tell him a lesson, so he starts checking his bus and ignores him.
He then proceeds to check everything, sees if the doors function properly etc and of course he has to test the brakes as well. Normally you just let the bus roll and brake, but he did not so this time.
He went as fast as is allowed on the premises and then stomps on the brake. If you brake like that, the bus stands after like 10m, so everyone and everything flies to the front. So did the boss.
The boss picked himself up and went to the driver who acted surprised and said he didn’t notice that the boss was in the bus and apologised for hurting him.
After this incident the boss never did this again and the drivers were very happy about that.
