England legend Wayne, 33, was busy scoring a last- minute equaliser as his side drew 1-1 away at New England. He was very ‘appy with that.

The ex-England man was taken out earlier in the game in an ugly coming-together by New England revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner – who was sent-off for his troubles.

Later in the game, Rooney managed to compose himself to score a last-gasp equalising penalty for his DC United team in the 1-1 draw.

Following the clash, England’s all-time record goalscorer claimed: “[It was] like being in a car crash.
