AFTER Prue Leith’s infamous spoiler cock-up last year, I’d have thought Bake Off bosses would be keeping anyone connected to the show well away from social media.
But 12 months on after Prue prematurely letting slip online who the winner was, it’s happened again.
Ruby was tricked into revealing who had won by a prankster pretending to be host Sandi Toksvig[/caption]
Only this time, it’s at the hands of contestant Ruby Bhogal.
The 26-year-old man from Swansea set up a Twitter account — now suspended — that looked very similar to Sandy’s and fooled Ruby into chatting with him.
They shared a series of direct messages about this week’s Danish-themed episode, before he tricked Ruby into revealing she was “very happy” about the winning individual.

The prankster claimed he did it because he was “bored”.
He said: “It’s actually pretty easy to do really.
“You just make a fake profile of one of their friends and then they follow you.
“You then change your name and message them and they have no clue.”
Last year it was judge Prue Leith who prematurely revealed who’d won – also on Twitter[/caption]
Despite having seen the Twitter messages, I’ve decided not to share the name of the winner as it would spoil it for millions of fans.
I will accept a box of homemade cupcakes as a thank you, Ruby.
- The Great British Bake Off final airs on Tuesday, October 30.

Holly’s Toff challenge
Holly did a Bushtucker Trial on her final day hosting This Morning – one involved feeling inside a box containing last year’s winner Georgia Toffolo[/caption]
HOLLY Willoughby gave us a glimpse of how much fun she’s going to be when she hosts I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!
She did a Bushtucker Trial on her final day hosting This Morning before she heads to the jungle.
Co-host Phillip Schofield and Gino D’Acampo watched with delight as terrified Holly put her hands in covered boxes and tried to guess what was inside.
One contained last year’s winner Georgia Toffolo – but Holly screamed when she touched a remote-controlled toy spider in another box, above. I’m not sure Holly should be so worried about tiny creatures with hairy legs if she’s working with Declan Donnelly.

MR SPOCK fans have been give their first glimpse of Ethan Peck playing the Vulcan first officer in the new season of Star Trek: Discovery. The grandson of movie legend Gregory Peck was cast in the sought-after role this summer.
X Factor duo’s Bey list party
On a recent trip to Los Angeles, Stef Benson and Jeff Okyere met Black Eyed Peas producer Will, who took them to Jessica Alba’s birthday party.
It was there that the lads, who will appear on the first live shows at the weekend, got to meet Bey.
Stef said: “Will left us for a second. I turned, the crowd of people parted like how Moses parted the sea, and on the other side Beyonce was just sitting there. We sang happy birthday with everyone else to Jessica and then we had to go and say ‘hi’ to Beyonce. We walked over and found her talking to Will.
“She was like, ‘Hey, I’m Beyonce!’ and in our heads we were like, ‘Well, obviously!’
“How crazy is that? She introduced herself to us! We were freaking out inside.
“But it felt like we were meant to be there – we were meant to meet her. We told her what an inspiration she was to us and she said she thought we were amazing, she loved the look of us.”
Calm down, boys – you’re not superstars just yet.
WHAT? The Graham Norton Show, BBC1, 10.35pm.
WHY? The host’s guests include Oscar-winners Sir Michael Caine and Sally Field, plus Rami Malek, who’s playing Freddie Mercury in the new Queen biopic.
C4 Pun-t on love
Baewatch is heading for E4[/caption]
CHANNEL 4 has dreamed up one of those shows where the puntastic title obviously came before the content.
The broadcaster is readying a hidden-camera show called Baewatch for sister channel E4, which will see parents meddle with their children’s romantic lives in a big way.
Clingy mums and dads will get to spy on their offsprings’ partners (or “baes” as they’re called these days) before deciding whether or not to give their blessing.
An insider said: “There’s only so much you can learn about a person over a Sunday roast or at a family bash.

“But this is still a pretty extreme way to get to know your child’s new other half.”
The show sounds quite similar to a one-off Channel 4 programme called Spying On My Family, which aired last month and let relatives watch each other 24/7.
It could be a good replacement for anyone mourning the loss of BBC3’s Sun, Sex And Suspicious Parents, where youngsters on their first trip abroad with their mates got stalked by their family.
So if you’ve started dating again and spot someone at the club who looks like your partner’s mum wearing a trench coat, shades and fake beard, you could be on TV.
IN Emmerdale, Rhona is on the warpath, Bernice reaches a final decision and Jacob relishes Maya’s attention.
In Coronation Street, pregnant Sinead attends her hospital appointment where she is told she has cervical cancer and should consider a termination.
Elsewhere, Angie lies to Jude and says she has a business meeting when she is really going on a date with a man she met online.
And Michelle confides in Robert about Ali’s worries over Ronan.
In EastEnders, Martin feels conflicted when Ross defends himself – especially when he shows him a text from Ruby.
Meanwhile, Dot and Dr Legg sit and reminisce about the good old days.
