Saturday’s racing tips: Three longshots to fill your pockets at Wetherby, Ascot and Churchill Downs

THE Breeders’ Cup is the big event Stateside on Saturday, while there’s also proper National Hunt fare from Wetherby and Ascot.

The Sun Racing team has been thumbing through the cards and picked out three longshots capable of firing up your wallet.

12.20 Wetherby – Chase The Wind

Not shown much on his two starts since returning from a summer break but he’s worth another chance now returned to his favourite track. Two starts in novice company last season resulted in one win and one second and he clearly performs well here. Down to a very good mark and if given an easy lead he could be tough to peg back.

3.35 Ascot – Ramses De Teilee

Had looked for a while as though something might have been amiss with his breathing and it’s no surprise to see he’s had a wind operation. Demonstrated glimpses of very smart form last season and he looks on a good mark based on those performances. Trainer has done well with the family and there is likely to be plenty more to come this season.

CHURCHILL DOWN-POUR Kentucky bombarded with bad weather just 24 hours before Breeders’ Cup

7.36 Churchill Downs – One Master

Looks a big price considering he was quite an impressive winner of the Prix de la Foret last time out on Arc day. Has landed the inside draw and with James Doyle aboard he could well have been underestimated in the market. He’s still lightly raced and considering his rate of improvement, he could have even more to give.
