The clip – obtained by air travel site FlyerTalk – was filmed on September 14 shortly after the flight landed at Denver Airport.

Both Thomas and Sporer had been in an intimate relationship – but had just broken up, TMZ reported.

A row broke out between the two over something Sporer saw on Thomas’, according to ABC News.

During the layover stop, Thomas is filmed walking towards the aircraft along the jet bridge.

He is then seen making a sudden turn to face Sporer standing outside the aircraft door.

After making a gesture towards her, Sporer reacts by slapping steward Thomas in the face.

In a fit of rage, Thomas then swings two punches at the woman – connecting with both jabs.

One punch lands on Sporer’s stomach while the second hits the side of her head.

She is then seen clutching her ribs and head as she reaches for a mobile phone.

Denver Police

Denver Police Department have arrested both Thomas and Sporer for domestic violence assault, TMZ reported.

An arrest affidavit said: “Sporer became angry and went onto the plane to confront Thomas.

“Sporer grabbed Thomas by the neck tie and slapped him in the face with an open hand three times.

“Thomas retaliated by grabbing Sporer and striking her in the ribs with a closed fist.”

The layover flight – which had no passengers on board at the time of the brawl – was later delayed until the following day.

In a statement, Republic Airways said both staffers were fired shortly after the brawl.

A spokesperson said: “We are aware of a situation that occurred last month involving two of our employees.

“We investigated this matter and took appropriate action consistent with our belief that such behaviour is unacceptable.

“These individuals are no longer employed at Republic.”
