Simone Biles’s fans are going wild over a slow-motion video that shows how the Olympics gymnast’s feet barely touch the ground when she is executing a complicated tumbling pass.
Media and political communications consultant Timothy Burke shared slowed-down footage of Biles competing on the floor exercise at the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships earlier this month.
‘Simone Biles, in extreme slow motion,’ he tweeted along with the jaw-dropping clip, which has been viewed more than 4.7 times and has received nearly 10,000 quote tweets.

The video shows Biles running into a roundoff back handspring and then launching herself into the air into a triple-double — three twists completed during two backflips — before landing on the mat.
She is in the air for roughly 50-seconds in the slow-motion clip, and while it only featured one of her tumbling passes, it was more than enough to stun her already impressed fans.
‘Don’t wanna start any arguments, but we might be witnessing the best athlete any of us have ever seen. My goodness,’ one person wrote.
‘This has to be on the short list for top physical accomplishments by humans,’ someone else commented.
Others couldn’t get over how high in the air she was during her triple-double.
‘Not overlooking all the other skill and athleticism but at the 1:25 mark, is she like 10 feet in the air? It’s wild,’ one person pointed out.

Burke also tweeted a link to a physics paper detailing how Biles ‘accomplishes this conversion of angular velocity to linear velocity.’
The paper — titled ‘Simone Biles: defying the laws of physics?’ — takes an in-depth look at the energy required by the gymnast to pull off the complicated flip.
Biles is the most decorated American gymnast ever with 30 combined Olympic and World Championship medals.
She claimed her record seventh title at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships this month as she continues to train for her second Olympics.
Her two-day total of 119.650 was nearly five points better than runner-up Sunisa Lee and good friend and teammate Jordan Chiles.

The superstar athlete covers Glamour this month in a white David Koma dress — with a cutout to show off her perfectly toned midsection — and red, white, and blue Tiffany Rose hair ties woven through an extra long braid.
Though she’s the picture of contentment on the cover, the star admitted to the magazine that like so many people, she went through a rough patch in the spring of 2020.
When her gym closed and the Olympics was canceled, she considered giving up the sport all together.
But she got past it, and used some of her downtime to reorganize her priorities.
‘Before I would only focus on the gym,’ she said. ‘But me being happy outside the gym is just as important as me being happy and doing well in the gym. Now it’s like everything’s coming together.’
