Dude gets called out for proposing in a KFC, ends up wedding sponsors
Via Twitter Proposing to someone is one of the most nerve wracking things I can think of. So many things can go wrong, she could hate the ring, say no, you could drop it into the ocean, etc… it’s a nightmare. So you plan, and you strategize and you try to think of a place that’s meaningful. So, kudos to anyone that’s popped the question, gotten the answer they’re looking for and lived happily ever after. But sometimes, other people try to ruin it for you.
Here’s where things like a beautiful proposal turn into something a little less like a fairy tale (or more like one, since every good tale needs a villain), and into a partial nightmare. A South African couple got caught on video at KFC, during their proposal and it was
tweeted out by the KFC South Africa feed. Instead of being a good human being, a journalist, who’s since protected her page, tweeted out her ridicule of the whole thing, calling him “broke and not classy.”
I smell jealousy. And finger-licking good chicken.
Via Twitter Here’s the video of the proposal. She’s pumped, he’s happy, everyone’s where they wanna be and loving it. And it’s got 3 million views because people love it.
So what’s the point of looking down on them? Why even bother Anele? You and your <2K followers must have better things to do.
Thankfully, her bad attitude ended up blessing the couple, because brands started jumping in and offering gifts, trips, catering and even better rings.

Via Twitter Some brands offered monetary vouchers.
Via Twitter I’d have loved this at my wedding. I’m a sucker for fountain Coke.
Via Twitter Shortly after, KFC SA found the couple – named Bhut’Hector and Nonhlanhla.
the initial news reports, the couple were already married in 2012, but it wasn’t anything special due to their circumstances. This time he wanted to give her a better ring and ceremony.
Pretty sure this proposal/wedding is gonna blow the original one out of the water.
Via Twitter FYI, that’s a value of around $3,035 USD.
Sounds about right.
