STRICTLY Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard has revealed he’s having sleepless nights over fears he’ll drop partner Lauren Steadman.
The 23-year-old danced the Cha Cha Cha to Fame with the Paralympian during Saturday’s Movie Week.
While AJ was pleased with their performance, he has admitted to worrying about doing lifts in their routines.
“The routines are risky and lifts have been giving me anxiety and I haven’t been sleeping properly.
“There is no safety bar or back-up in case of a mistake.
“If something goes wrong she will hit the floor hard and with only one hand it’s a lot harder stop stop your face smashing on to the ground.”
However, the couple are working extra hard to deal with her disability and he believes it will be “an advantage in the long run”.
AJ also spoke about proud he was of the 25-year-old and how well she has adapted to the world of dance.
He said: “I’m blown away by Lauren. She is showing the impossible is possible. What she is achieving is sensational.”
The dancer went on to explain how they have to adjust their routines in the training room.
He revealed: “Because Lauren only has one hand I can’t hold her hand when dancing or use her hand to lift her up.
“We have to change choreography a lot. It is especially hard with props.

“It is hard to make certain things work. It is impossible to do the normal way but to find away around it is more rewarding.
“We both thrive under pressure and are very competitive.”
AJ admits Lauren has made quite an impression on him in the few weeks they have been training together.
He said: ““She is on a high at the moment though. She’s on the biggest show on TV, she is a World Champion triathlete for a third time in a row.
“Lauren is an incredible partner. She makes me want to be a better person.”
