THE Chase has been branded ‘a fix’ after furious viewers blasted bosses for giving brainbox Anne Hegerty an ‘easy’ question to win the show.
Fans were left on the edge of their seats during Thursday’s episode of the game show, as two challengers looked set to win.
But just when it appeared that personal trainer James, 38, and student Owen, 19, would be walking away with £11,000 between them, Anne was given “one of the easiest questions in history”.
The Governess was asked: “What is half of 30?”
Taking to Twitter, one fan of the show raged: “#thechase is such a fix! one of the cleverest woman in the world #annehegerty gets the question ‘what is half of 30’ really.”
Another added: “What is half of 30?” Really? FIX!! @ITV #THECHASE.”
A third simply wrote: “Big prize money = bring out the easy questions for the chaser. #TheChase.”
Answering the question correctly meant Anne was able to chase down James and Owen’s total.
The clever pair had already answered questions on topics including boxing and the Spanish Civil war.
