The Crown star Olivia Colman to star in Les Miserables remake next year alongside Lily Colins

OLIVIA Colman looks far from regal in her new role in the BBC remake of Les Miserables — despite the fact she’s also set to play The Queen in royal drama The Crown.

The actress, who shot to fame in Broadchurch and The Night Manager, will play the wicked Madame Thenardier in the retelling of the original Victor Hugo tale.

The six-part show will air next year with a star-studded cast which Lily Collins, Dominic West and David Oyelowo.

Around the same time, Olivia, 44, will appear as Queen Elizabeth II in series three of The Crown, which features Game of Thrones’ Tobias Menzies, 44, as Prince Philip.

Helena Bonham Carter, 52, will appear as Princess Margaret in the Netflix show, but previously played Madame Thenardier in the 2012 movie adaptation of Les Miserables.
