The Handmaid’s Tale viewers complain about major sound issue with series four – but did you spot it?

THE Handmaid’s Tale viewers have been left frustrated by major sound issues during the latest episode.

It was all action in last night’s episode of the Channel 4 drama as viewers saw June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) and her fellow handmaids plotted their escape from Gilead.

Season three ended with June being shot by a guard after helping dozens of children escape Gilead for the safety of Canada.

Season four follows June and her fellow Handmaid’s as fugitives as they try to reach a safe place.

However, all their furtive and whispered conversations lead to some major sound issues for viewers.

Taking to Twitter, fans couldn’t help but share their frustrations.

One viewer said: “Forever turning the sound up and down.”

A second wrote: “Anyone else had to radically turn up the sound on #HandmaidsTale?

“Even given there are whispered conversations at times – ordinary level speech is really muted for me.”

Another penned: “Does anyone else watch the #HandmaidsTale twice? Once without, and once with the subtitles on so you know what they’ve actually said without turning the sound up and down!!”

Last week, viewers had a different complaint during the season four opener.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Channel 4 must of paid some serious cash for #HandmaidsTale but they giving it a good go at regaining the money with the f***in adverts. #toomuch. I’d rather 1 longer break. way too much stop/start.”

Another added: “Forgot how good the #HandmaidsTale soundtrack is. Great drama but too many adverts interrupting the flow of the story.”

A third tweeted: “HandmaidsTale absolutely unwatchable on @Channel4
with the adverts, will be waiting until it’s released on Amazon Prime. Thanks for ruining it.”

The Handmaid’s Tale airs on Sunday’s at 9pm on Channel 4.
