THIS Morning fans were shocked to discover the backdrop is FAKE after a technical blunder made the screens go blank on today’s show.
Hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were in the middle of an interview about a lonely dog when the screens showing the River Thames and London skyline suddenly went black.
While the camera panned to the dog while they got the screens back up and running seconds later, it didn’t go unnoticed by eagle-eyed viewers.
Taking to Twitter one wrote: “Technical Fault on @thismorning black screen of death lol
#ThisMorning #blackscreen #Technicalfault”.
Another added: “What the F***. Am i the only one who didn’t know it was SCREENS behind them on # ThisMorning !!!! I can’t. I feel WEIRD.”
A third tweeted: “Did anyone else notice the windows turning off?”
Last year, the show, along with Good Morning Britain and Loose Women, moved from the London Studios on the capital’s Southbank over to West London and Television Centre.
The sets for all three shows were rebuilt at the their new home, and screens were used to replicate the river view the old studio used to have.
But some viewers hadn’t realised this, with one joking on Twitter: “Are your windows real? I swear the whole city behind you blacked out a moment ago. I think someone needs to put 50p in the meter as those “windows” are clearly using a lot of juice #ThisMorning.”
Another simply tweeted: “It’s all a con, my life is a lie.”
